David Clouting kick started 2012 with a great reception at the Surface Design Show where two new collections were launched.
Zenolite Plus by EGR caught Architects and Designers off guard as this 4mm light weight acrylic looks just like glass. Now with a modified UV protective coating it is even more durable by being resilient to scratching so it’s a perfect solution for shower room walls and tea point splashbacks for offices.
It comes with an easy to install guide contractors can template, cut and install on-site which will save time and is more cost effective than back painted glass. There are six colours and one sheet size of 1000mm x 2440mm.
Sitting comfortably next to Zenolite Plus was the incredibly technically advanced Interior Film by LG Hausys (and distributed in the UK by David Clouting). Aimed at the specification market, Interior Film comes in a stunning variety of finishes and patterns including Textured Silver (pictured on the right) which is reminiscent of silver leaf, as featured in Feb’s issue of FX magazine.
The practicalities of Interior Film means that it can be applied by the contractor directly onto smooth substrates like concrete, steel, plaster or wood. It was developed for the marine industry so it is highly durable and resistant to impact, abrasions and scratchings. The film self extinguishes after measuring the flammability test so has the function of being fire resistant. It also has high resistance to humidity and would be suitable for hotels, bars, restaurants, offices, apartments, caravans and yachts to name a few.
